Designing objects that bridge function, material, and human experience.
ASLIHAN DONMEZ
I'm an industrial design student at Izmir University of Economics. I recently completed an Erasmus+ semester at Óbuda University in Budapest, where I worked across objects, lighting, furniture, and product design, always starting from a material and letting it decide what the form wants to be.
I'm drawn to projects where meaning is carried by material choice: stainless steel's permanence in a commemorative object, chrome's reflectivity in a lighting family, leather and polished metal in a lounge chair, a diamond-set dragonfly on a watch dial. Form follows the brief, but material carries the story.
My process moves between sketching, Rhino and Fusion 360 modeling, and KeyShot rendering, with an interest in how a single material decision early on reshapes everything downstream.

PERSPECTIVE
IUE 25th Anniversary prestige object. A stainless-steel bookend whose rings resolve into the numerals '2' and '5' only when viewed from the intended angle, a reflection on how progress only becomes legible with distance.

CROMA
A chrome lighting family (desk, floor, and wall) inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water and Mid-Century form language. Reflective pebble-like shades throw soft 3000K light across the room while reading as sculpture when off.

LUSTRA
A lounge chair and ottoman set in polished metal and khaki leather. The sculptural pedestal base and continuous armrest explore how a single swept form can carry both structure and silhouette.

AURELIA
A dragonfly-inspired wristwatch developed against a Blancpain brief. Slim stainless case, double-stepped bezel, pale-blue crocodile strap, and diamond-set wings, a study in how ornament can stay structural.

SOMETHING REAL
I'm looking for a hands-on internship or studio role where I can contribute to real product development, from concept sketches through to production-ready prototypes.
